I was wondering what the best way would be to make sure individual IPs can only use a certain amount of bandwidth. So for instance each unique IP is only allowed to download x amount of files or they get their IP dropped.
I just want to make sure one person can't use up all of my monthly bandwidth in one day.
Also, if you suggest using iptables, can you give me a guide on how to use iptables for this purpose? |

You should share more info about your linode plataform, and what kind of traffic is going to be limitied or throttled.
Without any information about this I would suggest you install ISPconfig, it has a bandwith manager embeded |
