Previous to Linode, according to Google Webmaster Tools, my site was in the bottom percentage of slowest websites. Seriously!
I decided tonight to check Google again, as they should have a more up-to-date analysis of my site.
Now look at this, WOW!
"On average, pages in your site take 0.9 seconds to load (updated on Jul 30, 2010). This is faster than 93% of sites."
How cool is that? |

It's a big deal to me, especially after hearing about the Google penalty for slow sites, and having Google Webmaster Tools tell me my site was among the slowest on the Internet.
It was a lot of work to get things faster, and it paid off. |

That's the ticket- while Linode gives the ability for speed, it takes a lot of work to configure the server for that kind of speed.
I know mine isn't fast, and I know it's my fault, not the fault of Linode. |
