Hello everybody..

Here's my question.. Hope it isn't to basic or noob and I hope you can help me with this...

I had acquired Linode 512, since it was the basic at the time..
It happens that, with Linode changes, my linode became a Linode 2048.. Its still on Xen and it's 32bits.
I now want to get back to a basic linode, since it will be enough for me.

Since it will give me some work to migrate with new installation and code update and so on...
Can I just add a new linode 1024 and clone my actual server into my new linode?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me on this..

[edit] Or could I just build a new linode, maybe with more recent Linux on it and just deploy a disk image of my server??

Hi,

You can do either of those options. It's up to you. You can also simply resize the Linode you have to a smaller plan. I would also make sure you take the KVM upgrade at the same time.

So here's my feedback..

1 - I've upgraded from 32 to 64 bits..
2 - Upgraded from xen to KVM
3 - Resized my linode

All very smooth and simple!!!
This topic is solved!!

@rfeliciano.. thanks for your help.
Cheers to you and Merry Christmas!!
