Hey gusy:

Well this crash course into linux sure has been a challenge. But I have gotten just about everything work except for my VNC. I got it setup, and can connect with both Java and the VNCViewer client.

But the problem is that all it displays is a blank grey screen with my mouse pointer being a X. I get the same results from the VNCViewer except the blank screen is a deep blue.

It is runing on a CentOS 4.2 system. Do i need to set up desktops, or what? That is my only guess? Thanks for any help.

Steve

Yes, what you're seeing it the X server's default blank root window and pointer. There are no clients connecting to the X server. You need to run a window manager.
