Hello,

I have setup my system according to this guide http://library.linode.com/lamp-guides/u ... 0.04-lucid , how can I access any php file inside my /public_html if I still don't have my domain pointing here?

Any clues?

Thank you.

Assuming your web browser is bound to all IPs (which it is by default usually) just goto http://<yourlinodesIP>/path/blah.php

There is no way to connect remotely to apache, I can only use http://localhost with lynx.

What could I be missing?

I made it work by changing this file

/etc/apache2/sites-available/example.com

to

<VirtualHost 12.34.56.78:80>
DocumentRoot /srv/www/example.com/public_html/
ErrorLog /srv/www/example.com/logs/error.log
CustomLog /srv/www/example.com/logs/access.log combined
</VirtualHost>

Hi everyone! I was thinking of choosing linux for my host but also considering windows on the other hand. am not really familiar which works best but I am more concern which is more easy to deal with.

Any feed back would be great! Thanks. :D

And what does it have to do with my thread about Apache?

Why don't you open a thread in the right section?
