Hello all!

I'm trying to set up Postfix and Dovecot on my Linode. All my mail from all my domains is sent and received through Outlook, as suggested by the Linode documentation.

I can receive and send email fine, so Outlook is properly configured. The problem comes from PHP's mail() function. The scripts are properly coded, they run fine, but nothing is being delivered.

So far all guides I've found on Linode show you how to set up Postfix and Dovecot if you are using your Linode as the mail server, but can't find proper configs on using it as a satellite with Outlook.

Any pointers greatly appreciated!

Thanks. 8)

You can set up Postfix as a null client. It can either deliver mail directly (don't set relayhost in that case), or you can funnel it through your Outlook account using client SASL so the mail appears to originate from there.

I'm not aware of a step-by-step howto, so if you need more help you'll have to give us some answers to guide you. First, is it important to you that mail from your Linode goes out via your Outlook account? Second, what distribution and version is your Linode running?
