Hi all,

Back in the olden days, I setup my deb stable box with the instructions here, and all was well. Since then, sarge has gone stable, and life has moved on. My mail server, however, has not (for the most part).

Problem is, one particular address matching the wildcard to hit my mailbox is currently being spammed into all you-know-what. I know I could setup a mail user account with that name, but I frankly don't want to donate the disk space to the spammers.

I have tried adding the addresses to /etc/aliases and then running postmap on it, but it didn't have any effect. Short of migrating everything over to exim or something else (which I really haven't got the time to do), how do I fix this?

It should work. Let's see the relevant lines from /etc/virtual-aliases (if any) and /etc/aliases and see if we can help.

Not much to it.
Code:
# See man 5 aliases for format
postmaster:root
clamav:root
info:/dev/null

Mail sent to info@ goes right on through...

Maybe I didn't understand the question. Are you using Postfix virtual domains?

Hmm.... you say you've run postmap over your alias file, but humor me and run "newaliases" as root.

If you're also using SQL tables, as you suggest are you sure nothing in there is conflicting in the DB??
