I have a dovecote postfix setup and locally I can telnet port 25 send and recieve mail. When I try it from an external machine it just hangs there waiting. postconf -n gives me... alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases append_dot_mydomain = no biff = no config_directory = /etc/postfix luser_relay = corcoraj mailbox_size_limit = 0 mydestination = jcorcoran.net, li33-170.members.linode.com, localhost.members.linode.com, localhost myhostname = mail.jcorcoran.net mynetworks_style = host myorigin = /etc/mailname readme_directory = no recipient_delimiter = + smtp_tls_session_cache_database = btree:${data_directory}/smtp_scache smtpd_banner = $myhostname ESMTP $mail_name (Ubuntu) smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_mynetworks permit_sasl_authenticated reject_unauth_destination smtpd_tls_cert_file = /etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem smtpd_tls_key_file = /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key smtpd_tls_session_cache_database = btree:${data_directory}/smtpd_scache smtpd_use_tls = yes virtual_alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual I have tried this from different machines so I do not think it is a firewall issue. I can connect to it on port 25. Perhaps the host you are checking from has port 25 outgoing blocked? |

Thanks, Seems the 2 different networks I checked from where blocking port 25. Went to an internet cafe and all is good. Thanks again. Jason |
