What's the status on 2.6 being "experimental"? Is this because that's how the kernel developers are viewing it, and leaving it up to the distributions (in this case you) to maintain stability?
To be completely honest, it's mainly to avoid the endless support requests we'd get about how 2.6 "doesn't boot correctly" because TLS support is missing from 2.6-um. At least with the experimental tag, people might research it further before making the leap.

Do you expect to make a 2.6 version non-experimental at any time, and if so, will 2.4 still be kept up? (I'd certainly like it to be.)
The experimental tag will remain for 2.6-um kernels until UML has support for NPTL/TLS. We will continue to provide 2.4 kernels as the default.
However, once Xen is ready, I'll be considering only providing 2.6 kernels. Xen has an TLS emulation layer that works decently.
