This kernel updates 2.4.22-linode7-1um.
A condition exists in the linode7 kernel which can lead to a segfault (crash).
If you are running 2.4.22-linode7-1um, you should reboot your Linode to use the new 2.4.22-linode9-3um kernel.

jdike's changelog for 2.4.22-2um- UML should no longer crash when linked against a libc with the new threads stuff in it. **
- Added a proc command to mconsole which allows someone on the host to look at /proc entries in a UML.
- Fixed a mmap failure in the ubd driver when writing to a V2 COW file.
- Fixed a crash resulting from the hostfs jailing fix in the last patch.
- Exported a couple of the new VM symbols so modules should work better.
- ltrace now works in UML.
- Fixed the 'Child nnnnn exited with signal 11' crash seen by a number of people. **
Those marked with ** apply to us.
Check the output of "uname -a" to see which kernel version you're running.

EDIT: Updated to 2.4.22-3um, fixes the one remaining kernel panic.
