I just signed up for the Linode 64 plan about 4 hours ago after reading good stuff about linode.com over at WebHostingTalk.

Of course it's only been 4 hours but I'm a little anxious (and excited - first time with a VPS) about it so I'm wondering how long will it take. I get the feeling that perhaps I failed to clear fraud checks or something because I live in Singapore. Just want to check just in case because I've read the other threads where people weren't informed that their signup failed fraud checks until they posted here.

Been trying to get caker over at IRC but there was no response (or perhaps I'm doing something wrong since I don't use IRC (normally).

Thanks! :)

Sorry that was me above.

This is taking too long (almost 12 hours). Can someone (caker?) help me here?

You must have triggered something in the system that keeps you from being automatically approved.

Judging by the times of your posts you purchased your account late last night. If it wasn't automatically accepted, then I'm guessing a sysadmin has to manually approve it today. I don't think someone's watching for new accounts all night long, so I wouldn't worry about it until a whole business day passes.

Thanks for the info untitled9.

I am beginning to worry that I've chosen another bad host (I've run into a string of 2 of them only just). (Please tell me I haven't.)

I hope I can get it activated and running soon though. I'll have to leave my current host _very_ soon and will be left rudderless otherwise.

You haven't chosen another bad host - just a careful one.

Thank you! :) Just logged into the members area.

One small question: Is there supposed to be an activation email of some sort (because I didn't get one)?

Btw, want to add that after using the LPM a bit, I'm finding the concept very interesting. Good job on the Linode concept!
