How are bandwidth overages handled? I'm concerned about stories of people gettign DoS attacks and runnign up their usage and getting extreme charges for same.

I just need to run a few small websites and a mailserver to process and carve out spam. I've always been on my own T1 so bandwidth was "automatically" throttled and unlimited in overall usage. That's going away soon and I have to move my stuff somewhere. Linode looks about as good as anything else to try.

Thanks

I'm curious about this too. Is excess bandwidth added to the bill, or is access to the node blocked? Does linode only sell bandwidth in the increments shown in extras or for the exact overage? Please respond soon because my node is almost there 8)

Hello,

We don't throttle bandwidth if you've gone past your allotment. Typically bandwidth overages are added to the next month's bill.
