Hi,

we are interested in buying your service Linode 2048 but I found very difficult to understand what the features of this option are.

What is the monthly Bandwidth?

Is MySQL included? How many database can we create? Or is there any size limit for the database?

Is an administration graphic interface included or we have to do everything via SSH?

Are we going to have just a "roar" machine with nothing on it? Or is the machine ready for running a PHP5 based website?

What scripting languages are supported?

Is an email server included? What are its features?

How many IPs are included (if any)?

Any RAID feature?

Any other feature/characteristic?

Many thanks,

Stef

The monthly bandwidth of the 2048 linode is 800GIB.
One static ip is included. You can get another one for $1 a month. Anymore then 2 ip's and you will need good justification for why you want it

Mysql is up to you, if you want it, you install it.

Your essentially getting a raw machine. It'll ahve a base operating system on it, and then you have to configure and setup the rest.

So pretty much the answer to all of your remaining questions is that its up to you to install and configure everything you need.

Its a virtual machine, so RAID is taken care of at the host level, which is raid 10, but you wont see that inside of your linode, you will just see the presented disks as configured from the linode manager.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Hi and thank you for your reply.

With Bandwidth I meant the "speed" not the monthly Transfer :)

For instance, one of the providers I use offers the following
Bandwidth: Up to 4 Mbps.

What is the Bandwidth offered for Linode 2048 virtual server?

And another question: if this is a Virtual Server, does this mean that the "raw machine" is shared with other Virtual Servers?

Many thanks!

Oh sorry, i miss understood.

Your network is limited at 50megabits/s, but that can be increased if you ask them nicely :) for no extra fee either.

Yes, its shared with other virtual machines on the same host.. But your particular virtual machine is isolated, ie they cant see your stuff, and you cant see theres.. you have full root access to your machine and can do what ever the hell you want, as long as its legal :)

On a linode 2048 your sharing it with a maximum of 10 other people.
Realisticly though, given the split of the cpu's etc, your sharing that with a maximum of 5 people..

id be surprised if you noticed the other people though. I have 2x768 nodes, and 1x512 node, and ive never hit cpu contention.

Cheers
