If I were to buy 3 Linode 512 systems, is there any kind of discount?

Also, how long does it take to upgrade from 1 Linode plan to another? Lets say I go from a Linode 512 to a 1024. What's the average downtown on my system to make the transition?

Thanks!

No. Discounts are offered for paying by the year (-10%) or two years (-15%) instead of the default month-to month. Quantity discounts are not feasible, because you can add, remove and resize Linodes at any time.

Downtime is dictated primarily by the time needed to transfer your disk images to a new host (each host only has Linodes of one size on it). Reckon on 3-5 minutes per GiB of space actually in use.

If you log into the Linode manager, it appears they can estimate how long it'll take to resize your node too. Under the Resize tab I'm currently shown:

Quote:
You will experience downtime while your Linode is migrated. We estimate 12 minutes to migrate your Linode, but that may vary based on host and network load.

I don't know if that's taking into consideration, shutdown, resize operation and reboot or just the resize operation and shutdown and reboot will add a bit more time to that for overall downtime.

Awesome, thanks for the answers.

I'm probably going to be moving here from VPS.net, mainly because they nuked their forums with their website redesign. Just wanted to be clear on features before doing so.
