I'm looking to host some latency sensitive applications which need to communicate with a third-party.

Can anyone with a linode host in the London datacenter do a ping and traceroute to 213.248.206.10 for me please, and let me know the results?

funkytastic, yeah it's the Nominet external gateway to EPP and the rest of their systems.
