Hi,
I would like to migrate my applications to linode and was wondering what is the best way to setup a linode ruby rails environment? Coming from slice, I followed a bunch of tutorials in setting up the rails environment, dev package installations, securing ports and protocols, etc...with linode, do I still do the same? Are there beginner tutorials in doing these things?

I am new to these stackscripts? are these just regular scripts that I would cut and paste into a txt file and then execute the file? Do I need to perform security measures like setting up ssh, disabling ports, editing timeouts, etc..?

am I allowed to have *.mydomain.com ?
