| Post subject: | Basic DNS question: third party dns management |
DNS for a domain I'm now wanting to host a website for on linode is managed by a third party service, namely the domain registrar. I can change the ip address for the A records for the domain and the www subdomain on the third party ok to point to my VPS at 173.255.213.174 But was wondering what I need to do at the Linode end in the DNS manager. Do I need to create a zone for the domain and if so what records need to be added? Any help appreciated... |

If you're happy with the DNS service your registrar provides, then you don't need to do anything. You may want to change your reverse DNS from li###-###.members.linode.com to something like whatever.example.com, but this is not strictly necessary. |
