I upgraded my node and a client's node to Ubuntu 12.04….and oddness ensued: His node was updated clean due mostly at the fact it is empty with just one site.
Mine of the other hand was a mess because I have…Gitorious, Aegir and a handful of other installations all which bit me back once I moved from 10.04….I only mention this because I eventually had to do some interesting apt-get and may be connected to the issue
Today I am checking some networking stuff and come to realize my client's node retained the same networking set up I was used to and that is reflected on the Linode documentation online. But when I checked mine I see somehow resolvconf got installed, it is active and working. I needed to set up static IP, the linode guides do not address this so…..confused as of what do.
Can I uninstall resolvconf so I can get the node networked the way it was? Or should I leave it and simply foliow some other guide to configure static IP with resolvconf on? Is that even possible?
Thanks for any feedback.
