setting up SFTP

Hello, I am having trouble connecting to my VM via SFTP for both root and user accounts it just doesn't connect at all. The accounts i am trying can connect via SSH ok and currently i am using SCP to send files and this works ok. I have bee through the getting started guides to setup my VM and apart from setting the RSA key i completed most of the steps. can anyone suggest where to look or what might be the cause of not being able to connect via SFTP?

Hi, what OS are you using?

I'm not very good with stfp but i tried connecting on my machine via sftp and it worked!

Have you checked your journalctl logs? wait the OS matters, what OS are you using?

And is there some output of your login attempts? Maybe you can search where you OS puts the failed login attempts logs at and paste them.
