If this is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it!

I'm doing some thesis research on cloud security and was wondering how Linode detects and deals with misuse of their servers. I'm looking into situations such as a consumer hosting a botnet or attempting to launch attacks against the hypervisor. What do you guys do to detect these types of users, or how do you prevent them from signing up in the first place? Any help is appreciated!

My guess is that they start by not answering questions from random "researchers" asking about their internal security procedures...

Hah, point taken, this does look rather suspicious of me. This is obviously not the appropriate way for me to approach this, so this thread can be removed.

EDIT: Actually, the terms of service seems to provide some of what I was looking for.
