Is there a way to get around the message, ' "Red Hat LInux 9" disk 2 needed to install packages ' when using the Package Management utility?

Thanks.

I don't know Red Hat but I would try 1) changing the source of installation to an FTP site or 2) mouting the required ISO.

What are you trying to do exactly? The best way to add packages to a Red Hat 9 system is to use yum or apt.

Start looking over here: http://linux.duke.edu/projects/yum/

Anyway, RHL9 is super old, you might want to try at least Fedora Core instead.
