hi there,

sorry if this is in the wrong place.

On my Linode portal I have a main domain name for example mydomain.com.au

I want to now add a sub domain and point it at an AWS instance. What is the best way of doing this?

The idea is to be stg.mydomain.com.au

Is this a master zone or a slave zone.

Also can i set this up as a *.mydomain.com.au which would allow me to have job1.stg.mydomain.com.au

Thanks in advance

If you already have "mydomain.com.au" as a zone in the DNS Manager, you'd just need to make an 'A' record for "stg".

The hostname would be "stg" and the address would be the IP address of the AWS instance.

For your second question, you could set up a wildcard subdomain if that's what you're asking. I'm a bit unclear on your question though.
