I recently installed munin on my Linode (running Debian sarge) and I'm seeing some wierdness with the graphs. In particular it seems that my cpu graph never adds up to 100%. It used to be around 50% and now is flattened out at 60%.

I'm not sure if this is due to running on a UML instance or something I need to adjust in the configuration. I did notice that some other posts here in the Linode forums show munin graphs with the correct CPU scaling, so I figure it's me.

I am using the stock Debian munin package and have not modified the plugins at all... I've searched google to no avail, anybody know what's going on here?

Thanks in advance,
Brian

I've seen correct scaling in the munin CPU usage graph only with 2.4 kernels. 2.6 kernels show a varying graph. This is definitely due to the fact that it's a UML system, and basically the idle time of all the UML systems on a given host is shared idle time. I don't think that there is any real consequence from this other than statistical oddities.
