Every time I try to install erlang, it hangs when I ./configure.

The message it gives out just before it hangs is:

checking for unreliable floating point execptions...

this patch doesn't work and generates a

patching file configure.in
Hunk #1 FAILED at 1471.
1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file configure.in.

error

I'm using ubuntu feisty 7.04, just because it's what I've got at home - anyone had a successful erlang install? if so what configuration are you using please? How did you do it? This is driving me crazy.

I'm almost ashamed to write this. There's no cure for stupid.

I hadn't uncommented the lines in /etc/apt/sources.list to enable packages from the feisty universe.

Once done that and run

apt-get update

, I could then

apt-get install erlang

and

apt-get install ejabberd

and bob's your uncle, it's all good.
