How is that different, though? Talman offers a service where he resells Linodes and accepts other types of payments. He acts as the middleman to enable people to pay with methods Linode doesn't accept.
I chose linode because of the respect it had in the Drupal community. I have no such information on Talman. While he may have good intentions, I can not blindly give him 650 US dollars. My family I trust more than him. If you can show me he has an established reputation of respect like Linode does, I would reconsidered.

You are using a relative to do the same thing. I don't see the difference.
I hope you can now.

You seem very critical of American society, and although I'm not American, it really doesn't seem to be relevant to the topic at hand (it's also kind of hypocritical considering China's horrible human rights record).
Thats fair enough given my previous statement. I made a generalization
based on my opinion about the current financial status and media industry. Its only my personal opinion. Certainly China has its share of problems.

You never told us why you can't get a credit card, only that you can't. Is it that you can't, or you won't?
Both.

You talk about the evils of the credit card industry, and while it's true that they're really in it to make a buck, they provide a valuable service that does not necessarily require one to borrow money on a long-term basis.
Yes. Amongst other things.

I have a credit card. I use it to buy almost everything. I pay my bill in full each month. I pay no interest, I have no complaints.
Thats nice. I think there are many consumers who suffer fromover consumption and are debt ridden to financial institutions. Such things as predatory lending and and and.. Which seems prevalant in the US.

You started at a very expensive Linode, instead of trying the $20/mth one and scaling up from there. Are you sure you need a 1536MB linode?
I am not sure, but I need to be safe. My last managed server was brought down from my site. Constant 503s and worse. Please see my other posts when I requested info about which server size was right for me. I cant risk this happening again, and Drupal takes a lot of service. I hope that I will have the chance to downsize if I am using too much.

A smaller instance, properly configured, can handle a very large amount of load. You can save a ton of memory by using a well-configured fastcgi configuration with lighttpd/nginx (or even Apache).
Thank you for your advice. I am new to managing servers my self and linux. I am trying to find out as much as I can as fast as I can. I have heard keywords which I am trying to research now. Many people say nginx is great. At the same time I hear that the Pantheon/Mercury project is the way to go. I am trying to find out the key features of each and their functions as fast as I can. At the same time I am teaching 28 classes a week , developing the site (on hold till transfer is done) and the normal fathers everyday challenges.
Thanks for your advice on the NGINX suggestion.
