i haven't changed to new kernel yet, but I'm experiencing extremely poor performance at the moment on host 12, the status page says host load is "medium"

my performance is normally excellent

Host Load being medium can be fine. The box looks good at the moment.

Can you be more specific about the performance? Is this network lag, or delays from disk contention?

im not sure if it was network lag or io contention or what.. but ssh commands were taking a very long time to complete, and a couple of php webpages were taking a very long time as well
