Hi,

I currently host my domains with 1&1, but would like to move them to another host.

I am based in the UK and have looked into 123-Reg. However, I am not to sure if they are any better than 1&1.

Who do use or would recommend to host domains?

Thanks :)

123-reg are a bit better than 1&1 but have a realllly crap control panel.

I use name.com (fellow uk person here!) I end up paying in USD but it ends up cheaper and they have a decent control panel.

I use Namecheap and Gandi.net. Both have decent control panels, and they don't try to sell zillions of useless extras every time you do try to do something with your domain.

Never used gandi.net but looks like they have good pricing on .co.uk domains and free ssl for a year if you need it, same for namecheap. Maybe I'll switch :)

If you can read spanish, DonDominio has nice prices and a decent control panel.

DonDominio is an ICANN Accredited Registrar, not a reseller.

Do you mean domain registrar? I host my domains at Linode. My registrar is GoDaddy because I like Bob Parsons and I can't stand Network Solutions.

Namecheap. They're the best I've ever used. Great DNS too.

I'll throw in my recommendation for http://theparsec.com/ - a Linode-like Tucows reseller. Not the cheapest, but good CP, great support, no upsell.

Registering a domain is one thing, but Linode has an excellent (free) DNS hosting service, with a pretty nice UI for management to boot.
