If my Linode is running on server1 and the server has a problem does the system automatically boot my VM on server2? or do the support staff have to do it manually?

Does Linode support live migration? So if a server is becoming problematic or has to be taken offline for maintenance are Linode's live migrated to another server?

TIA

manual. everything is on local drives, not SAN or NAS. From what I've seen as a customer, if a server completely craps out, they move the drives to another server. If a server is dying but not dead, they'll notify you to schedule the migration to another server at the time of your choice (with a deadline).

offline, again because there is no SAN/NAS, live migration doesn't really work.

If you need an HA setup, you'll want to look into multiple nodes with failover and/or load balancing.
