 Post subject: document root

Hey guys

I cant figure out what my document root is.

I had a site running local using Xampp using the folder gate

but cant figure out where my folder gate needs to be on this setup. i followed linodes guide word for word.

3.Upload your website's files to the ~/public_html/example.com/public directory. Replace example.com with your domain name.


i want to beable to type www.example.com/gate/file.php

On most default installations of a web server it would be something like /var/www/gate/ or /srv/www/gate/ or something... I don't know which guide you're following, but it seems strange to be hosting the site from a public_html directory like that.
