I think the only way to know is to try. An important part is whether Openfiler's kernel supports paravirt ops; you'll want to verify this before proceeding. This article from the Linode Library gives some advice on installation, but the process is likely to require some troubleshooting.

Note that disk space on Linode is a relatively expensive resource, so it might not be the best choice for hosting a fileserver.
