hi

i am pretty new to this web site stuff, so i made a site ages ago on my own computer and i originally bought space at Ipage and tried to host it there but as you could not open ports i have to get a refund and then i found this place, now i have everything set up apart from my domain name which is still hosted at Ipage,

currently Ipage is using a "Pointer" to point the Domain name to my IP, but as you can see all it does is put my site in an Iframe
Code:

<html><HEAD>

</HEAD><FRAMESET border='0' ROWS='*,1'> <FRAME SRC='xxxxxxxxxx'><FRAME SRC='blank.html'> </FRAMESET> </html>

is there anyway i can get this transferred or anyway i can make it so it goes to my site normally? (so when you view source is not my site in a fame)

thanks

David

You need to update the DNS so the records point to your Linode's IP. That way when you visit the site ipage won't be serving it at all, instead it'll go to your VPS.

In your Linode manager you can also create a new DNS Zone for your IP, which'll automatically set up some records. If you do that you only need to change nameservers at Ipage. Set them to ns1.linode.com up to ns5.linode.com . DNS changes can take awhile though, 24-48 hours.
