Tried a competitor

I recently wanted to experiment with a BSD distribution as a server. I initiated a droplet at a competitor based on FreeBSD. Their system and pricing are competitive with Linode and BSD is not availabe here.

However, the support and guidance cannot begin to compare with Linode.

Linode's guides and tutorials are an added value that are unavailable anywhere else.

I have had dedicated servers at all of the big names at one time or another since the early 2000s. I found Linode almost ten years ago. I would rather fight than switch, as the old saying goes.

You can install FreeBSD on Linode.

I’ve run FreeBSD on Linode a few years ago. Just beware some things don’t work - like the networking helper and backup service.
