Because the limitation on shared hosting I was looking for a server to use at home and learn about Linux. A friend told me to keep eye on WHT cause sometimes a good offer will come and looks like it did.

To my surprise Linode handled very fast and while I reading on the forum and wiki how it all works i've got the email telling me that everything was ready. Thought it would take much longer or might not be accepted because i'm not a linux expert.

I like the system and its not to hard to work with. Linux is not easy, but it makes things more fun than calling days to a datacentre in order to get something fixed. Don't know how VPS or Linode works out for others and just from my personal experience the last days i'm glad i've made the step and now also consider on purchase a year in advance soon.

For now only one bad thing about Linode: It keeps me away from my bed and don't get so much sleep anymore
