Yesterday, I was a total and utter newbie to Linux.

After a day of fiddling around, I've got apache/php/mysql/proftpd/smtp running on my box without problems!

I was about to buy a Windows box but I thought I'd give Linode a try for the low prices.

Now I love Linux and see how easy it is!

The box is also very fast and stable!

Windoze? For PHP? PHP sucks at the best of times so Windoze would have been interesting. Also may I suggest considering the use of SFTP rather than proftpd. Anyways Linux rules, enjoy.
