I used to host my site on a VPS from GoDaddy. I was frequently frustrated by inexplicable performance dives -- sometimes so bad that I could not get something as simple as 'ls' to actually do anything in a reasonable amount of time! To say nothing of absolutely obscene page load times. It was absurd, especially for how much I was forking over every month for that crap.

A coworker told me about Linode, and I was immediately impressed by the plans and the cost -- I'm now paying less per month than I was giving to GoDaddy, and I'm getting more resources and consistently excellent performance -- 'ls' actually works!!

Kromey's Adventures has been running on a Linode for a year and half (plus a couple days) now (although I've blogged practically nothing in the last year), and I've never once looked back! Set up was a breeze, reliability is second to none, and performance is outstanding!

I do have a question for the community, though. I like to promote the software and services that I use on my site -- my little way of giving back, I guess. I love those little 80x15 badges (as you can see if you visit my site), but I haven't seen one for Linode. Anyone happen to know where I can find a good little badge to promote Linode? (And shamelessly sneak in my referral code at the same time... )
