I have a tendency to use comic strip characters.

My servers are named after Peanuts characters:
-Snoopy (P4 Celeron)
-Woodstock (AMD K6-4)
-Redbaron (my soon-to-be Linode)

My other boxen are named after UserFriendly characters:
-Dustpuppy (Linux P4 Workstation)
-Miranda (iMac)
-Mirwin (iBook)
-Erwin (Dead Dell Laptop)
-SmilingDude (A different laptop)
-Stef
-Pearl

You get the idea ^^

I simply use ugly women's names (ugly names - not ugly women) starting with d for normal desktops and m for any mobile machines (laptops):

Desktops
    doris
    debbie
    dolores
    donna

Laptops
    mildred
    maggie

whirry, swirly, glowey, flashey, and stuffy. I've run out of names, but I have nothing more to name, so that's ok :D
