In a few minutes the host will be back online.

I brought the kernel version up to date with 2.6.11 (previously it was an rc4 based version). Obviously something is causing a kernel panic, but I haven't been able to capture what.

Interesting. I have noticed a lot of UML patches coming out on lkml lately, maybe something related?

Those are guest patches, not host.

Host is rebooting now, Linodes will be coming online in just a few.

I'll keep the remote console unit connected so I can catch a panic if this happens again.

If this continues to happen, we'll migrate people off this box until we can determine the cause.

Thanks,
-Chris

Ok, no kernel panic -- I'm guessing this is some type of hardware issue.

Linodes are coming online now. I'll be setting up migrations and emailing those affected.

Migrations have been configured. Everyone should have received an email with the instructions.

Thanks for the quick action. I never got an email, but I did seem to migrate everything over okay accoording to the instructions in the member overview area linode.com.

Was there anything beyond that in the email?

I assume the only thing from our perspective that changed was the linode # we'd use for lsh. Correct?

I ended up sending the email out incorrectly. I resent it this evening.

Basically, the only thing that will change from your perspective is the host you SSH into for console access.

Thanks,
-Chris

Correct, there wasn't anything more in the email and all that changes is the host number you connect to for lish.
