Host 39 - 43 are currently unreachable. I suspect a power issue though other servers in the same cabinet and even on the same remote power unit are up and running.

I am working on this now.

Michael

Of coursey... I have two linodes myself, one is on host39 and the other is on host43. Just my kind of bad luck, I guess.

Can you provide a little more information on why the outage happened and why the hosts (I'm on 41) didn't automatically restart when it came back up?

As a side not, I had a strange issue of not having the hostname set correctly and needing to add a /etc/hostname file to fix this, but I don't think this is related. The symptom was the apache wasn't starting and I was getting "mthaddon@(none):" as the command prompt and also problems with gethostbyname command. I just added a file called /etc/hostname and that took care of it.

Could you clearify this question? I'm not sure what you mean, Linodes that were running at the time of the power loss were restarted automatically after the host was restarted and checked.

Not for me, I logged into LPM and saw that my linode status was "
Your Linode is currently OFF" or whatever the OFF status was. I hit the startup button and then all was well. I didnt even notice there was an issue until 1pm EDT today....

Is this problem affect 31 as well? I'm on 31, and both my IP addresses are unreachable. I can reach via console.

(I opened a support ticket, but I don't know if that info propogates through the whole system. If this is already a known problem, please disregard.)

Thanks for all the help,
pd

DOH!

I looked at the support ticket, and mikegrb is the one who answered, and as a result is getting my further questions. In *stereo* because of this post. Sorry about that. I need to remind myself to RTFST!

Not for me either. I'm on 41 and after noticing my sites were down on Sunday morning I logged into the linode.com web site and noticed my server was "powered off". I had to manually boot it. I am on host 41. Please let me know if you need more information, but my linode was definitely not restarted.

I'm on host43 and I didn't have to touch my linode, it started back up after the outage.
