Something's flakey with host27's hardware, so it's time to get everyone off that machine. It will take me a few days to have a replacement machine available, so we're going to have to deal with potential reboots between now and then.

I'll provide more details when I know more.

Linodes are restarting now.

Hi Chris,

..today I noticed that my server was down and I checked for support tickets and found out your post here..

Host reboots were casual issue all previous year but lately they started to ocure more frequently. You are right, there was something wrong with hardware cause soft was not changed at all, at the beggining I thought it was my lame config ;) .. but now it's clear.

Shall I keep my server Powered off or is it safe to Boot it up now.?

Please update, when it's safe and fixed, good luck on it
Kind regards,
T.

Your node is OK to keep running until you perform the migration. Speaking of, the hardware was shipped out Friday and installed this weekend. I'll be configuring the host tomorrow (Monday) along with setting up the migrations (which you can perform when you're ready).

Hi Chris,

Is there something extra what I should do before performing this Migration task... ? Any suggestions are welcome.

Will there be a link on my member's section where I can click to activate the migration process.. ?

Kindest Regards,

Nope, nothing special you need to do before a migration.

Once your Linode is enabled for migration, you can shut down the Linode, then click on 'Migrate' button on the website, and wait.

It's that simple. But first, you must wait for the migration button to become an option -- which will happen after caker/mikegrb has finished setting up things.

Until they are ready for migration, you can still run your Linode for now.

Migrations have been configured. Those still on host27 should receive an email notice tomorrow.

Hi Chris,

Thanks, hopefully it will last longer.. now whe I check the host load status on my [Members] page then it's almost none... is the new hardware more powerfull ..? or this is my own illusion :D

T.

Most likely just means most people haven't migrated their hosts yet. Though I wouldn't doubt you're on better, newer hardware as well.
