Where I love Linode I do have one major complaint. Correct me if I'm wrong but there was not a single notice sent out about the maintenance?

Luckily I wasn't affected by this outage but this raises a concern as to something happened to me like this before. Linode made a fundamental change to the network interfaces and my site was down for a few hours some months ago.

But here's the point.

When ever ANY maintenance that effects a user base send out a notice well in advance of the maintenance window.

Sorry guy's but this is IT 101 and not sending out a notice is not only unsat but very unprofessional.

There's a very wonderful tool, it's called email

lol rediscovered this little gem today. Linode's one outage seems pretty small compared to this.

Yesterday, there were seven pages of replies. I left it open so I could finish reading them today. I'd only gotten to page four. Today there are barely two pages of replies on this thread. What happened to the rest?

Obviously I'm concerned they were deleted. Linode, please don't be uncool. I like hosting here.

It seems that the replies were not deleted, but moved into a separate thread in General Discussion:

A pointer to such woulda been nice, though... [Edit: Heh, it seems that Caker and I posted our replies at the same time!]

Nope, I moved the customer discussion into the General Discussion forum.

dmuth and caker - thank you. That's a relief. I was already starting to stress over finding somewhere I wanted to host the next two vps's.
