The following hosts require a kernel upgrade, for a number of reasons.
These machines are running a kernel version which is vulnerable to the brk kernel exploit recently announced (for reference, someone needs a shell account to exploit it, which no one has on any of the hosts).
Some users have reported network issues or blips in connectivity. This appears to be fixed in later versions of ebtables running on more recent hosts, so this should fix that as well.
2.4.23 contains VM improvements by default, and I've also added a
read latency patch which makes the I/O scheduler more sane about the way it handles reads vs writes. This should prove to be a big gain in disk performance and a big reduction in lag under load.

All Linodes will be shutdown properly, the host will be rebooted, and then your Linode will be rebooted using the last used config profile.
Actual down-time should be between 15-45 minutes. Please allow a one to two hour window (especially for Saturday) for the reboot to occur.
If this affects you, you'll be getting an email from me shortly.
Status and details will be posted on this thread.
Thanks,
