Have there been changes since the last backup beta? It caused big problems for me

Of course we made changes - as signified by the 2.0 mark -- Backups are much, much faster, so the window of time that we hold an LVM snapshot open on the host is vastly reduced. That's about the only thing that could have an affect on a Linode (since a snapshot does COW, a write gets amplified into a read, a write, and another write).

I wasn't able to find any reference to issues in your ticket history or on this forum. What kind of issues did you experience?

The problem I had was my server slowed to a crawl and backup jobs never stopped.
