Oracle's "community" support is pathetic compared to CentOS. If you go with Oracle and don't have a support contract then you are effectively on your own.

Unless you require Oracle's own kernel (and you shouldn't need that for a VPS like linode) then you're just using a less-well supported version.

That's shocking. RedHat's only advantage over CentOS and Scientific Linux is their support, they should be rather good at it.
