Your best bet for now: install it locally and upload the image. This tutorial has details: https://www.linode.com/docs/tools-refer ... linode-vps

Thank you for that guide hoopycat, it is very useful, i successfully transfer all the files came from my vmware installed with goautodial, but i need another line of help because after transfering all files, i did this below
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
#<file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/xvda / ext4 noatime,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/xvdb none swap sw 0 0

afterward i reboot my linode and i end up with an error says " Network Helper did not run: could not reliabily determine distribution or distribution version ".

what is this means? is this about network controller?

Try disabling network helper: https://www.linode.com/docs/platform/network-helper
