Apologies if this has been covered before.

I have the account security feature enabled, so when I login to Linode from a different IP address it sends me an e-mail that I have to verify before I can login.

Works great.

However - I downloaded the app yesterday for my iPhone and on an IP that I had never used before, logged in without any e-mail verification.

Is that not making the whole login verification pointless?

David

The mobile app uses the Linode API, and as such does not have an IP whitelist. You're welcome to enable two-factor authentication, which is required by the API and the Manager.

Not to mention that IP addresses on a cellular network can change very frequently and share between people. Whitelisting would be extremely impractical for the mobile app.
