RFC 6844 DNS Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) Resource Record allows to specify which Certification Authorities can issue SSL certificates for specific hosts/domains.
Although usually domain validation for SSL certificate issuance is done via DNS records or e-mail RFC 6844 CAA could sometimes help to secure domains against SSL certificate mis-issuance.

I would like to suggest implementing CAA records in Linode DNS system.
