Maybe It missed this during my search of the forums, but...

It would be nice to have the ability to set a profile setting that automaticly restarts my linode after a restart.

That way shutdown -r +0 would behave at it would on real hardware as opposed to having to manually restart the instance via the control panel.

BTW, I just got my account setup a two days ago. I didn't do a ton of reseach before I found linode, just read the slashdot article on UML hosting services. A lot of people said Linode was the place to go. A lot of times I get burned when I impulse buy like this, but I was in a hurry. I am very plesently surpised with what I got here. This is about the most fun I've had with new toy in years. Everything just works, is fast and easy. Score for the owner/admins , you guys are doing it right.

Set one of the Linode Configuration Profiles listed in the control panel as the default to have that profile used after a reboot.

The shutdown -r and reboot commands don't work as you might expect from inside a Linode - there are some UML related tasks that must be performed during boot that prevent implementation of the standard behaviors.

Check this thread for a workaround.

Here are some docs on Lish:

The reboot watchdog is something that a few people have asked for, and it's on my todo list.

Thanks,
