I want to know if Linode has a repository that contains all the packages that come with each of the distributions available.
I noticed that the initial install process installs a minimum of the RPMs for the Fedora Core distro. This is good, because I don't want to wast valuable disk space on packages that I don't use.
However it would be nice to have the packages close at hand if I do decide that I wish to install some of them. It also makes it easer to have a matched set of libXX.rmp and libXX-devel.rpm if I decide to do some compiling. It would be nice to also have the RPMs that are auto-installed available just in case. For example I decide to use a custom compile the Apache server, I then remove the Apache RPM. Later I decide against compiling and want to re-install the original Apache.
That's what yum is for, in the main distro
There's not a local mirror of it, but the b/w from the packages should be negligable.
