is it possible to change things so that passwords for the LPM and Lish can contain other characters besides only alpha-numeric? I personally also use punctuation characters in passwords, to add to the complexity.

I have to agree with this. As a sysadmin I would really like to be able to use complex passwords for my root account. It just makes me feel a bit more warm and fuzzy inside.

We'll work on fixing our regex.

BTW, this only applies to the Linode.com account password. You're able to change your root pass after the initial deployment.

You are correct, once I setup the server I could then use the passwd command to change it.

As a brand new user I have to say this is pretty sweet.

As of now, passwords (both Linode user passwords, and passwords entered through the distro wizard) can use alphanumeric and punctuation characters.
