My host doesnt appear to be restarting automatically when you reboot after kernel panics etc. Is this something everyone suffers, or is it specific to my linode? It's quite annoying finding out 24hrs+ after a reboot that my host is down when friends complain that their website is unreachable.

Check to see if you have a default boot profile selected. If you don't have one, if the host goes down, it doesn't restart your linode.

Hope that helps

That is weird it is supposed to start by itself then, now would be a good time to put in a support ticket and see what caker has to say about this.
